Meet the Owner

I don’t know about you but I am quite an inquisitive person and love to learn more about the lovely people behind a business or blog. There is something special about putting faces to names and I find it a much better way to engage and interact when you know and understand who is behind the service.

Today, I introduce myself as the ‘face behind the blog/business‘.

My name is Caley and I am a thirty-something small business owner behind the LuluPop brand. I was born and bred on the East Coast of South Africa in a small beach town. I went to an all girls public school before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Communications. I worked in PR and Advertising for many local brands and activations before studying further and graduating with my Post Grad in Intermediate Education (yes, that makes me a qualified primary school teacher!).

In 2006, I met the man of my dreams and we endured a four year long distance relationship before walking down the aisle in October 2010. Our first baby girl was born in April 2012 and our second baby girl in May 2014. We built our dream home in December 2013 and live on a quiet eco-estate, in the heart of the city.

I have always had a great love for socialising, hosting guests and planning pretty parties. My creative skills were put to the test for our wedding for 250 guests and since then, I have enjoyed hosting baby showers, bachelorette parties, kids parties, baby dedications and so much more. In July 2015, I decided to complete a short, part-time design course to give myself the design skills to be creative with printables and invitations too.

And in January 2016, LuluPop – Party Design & Planning was born. I am now a full-time, work-from-home Mom & Business Owner which keeps me on my toes and the creative juices flowing.

A few of my loves and loathes:-

Loves: Jesus, my husband, my two daughters, family, friends, sunshine, sea, stationery, travel, shopping, home decor, reading, blogging, designing, socialising, bright colours, sushi, chocolate, tea, Coca-Cola, being pampered, cars, champagne.

Loathes: The cold, snakes, spiders, dishonesty, betrayal, jealousy, comparison, forced opinions, bad spelling and grammar, avocado, wine, coffee, salmon, taking medicine, the colour black.
